Connect3 Productions announces format deals at MIPTV 2018

April 09, 2018

Connect3 Productions, the new content company led by Pablo Salzman and backed by Cineflix Media Inc., has announced a number of format deals.

SOS: Stories of Survival, an original French-language series created and produced by Productions Lustitia for Bell Media’s Ztélé, sees celebrities thrown into challenging outdoor expeditions based on real-life survival experiences. Now in its third season, the show airs in Quebec as Expédition Extrême. Cineflix Media’s sales and acquisitions division Cineflix Rights is representing the format at MIPTV. Sweden’s Nice Entertainment Group has already optioned the SOS: Stories of Survival format from Cineflix Rights.

Connect3 has also optioned 100 Years At The Table. The format, produced for Télé-Québec by Coco.TV, sees leading chefs explore a nation’s history through cuisine by preparing signature dishes inspired by famous characters, places, and events.

The format deals were set up through Cineflix’s International Development Initiative for Quebec Content, which fosters the adaptation of French-language television series and formats created by Quebec producers for the English-speaking global market.

“We’re at MIPTV with two strong formats that tap into the global appetite for engaging and stimulating content, with a local twist,” said Pablo Salzman, President, Connect3. “These deals also underline our hands-on approach of connecting our creative partners and their projects with the right content platforms to bring their stories to an international audience.”

Launched in late 2017, Connect3 recently announced a co-production partnership with Brazil’s Boutique Filmes to develop and produce a high-end scripted series about Nazi hunters with the working title The Chase.
