In 2013, Tony Wood and Cineflix Media formed a joint venture and launched Buccaneer Media . Tony Wood, the Managing Director of Buccaneer Media, has an international reputation as a creative force responsible for producing hit series including the groundbreaking reality series The Only Way is Essex (TOWIE); the internationally acclaimed teen drama, House of Anubis; the comedy, Fresh Meat; as well as one of TV’s biggest brands, Coronation Street. Buccaneer Media's Marcella (16x60’), starring Anna Friel (Limitless) and written by internationally renowned screenwriter and novelist Hans Rosenfeldt (The Bridge), recently premiered on ITV in the UK and dominated the evening viewing with ratings of 8M, a 29% share. C21 Drama Awards nominated Marcella was one of the UK’s highest rated scripted shows in 2016 and launched globally on Netflix (outside of the UK) in July 2016. The gripping thriller has been renewed for a second season. Ride (20x30’) is a brand new live-action kids series for Nickelodeon and YTV in Canada. Desi Rascals (20x60') was Sky Living’s first unscripted drama series. Buccaneer is also currently developing Robot Overlords , a TV series based on the UK Sci-Fi movie.
