Cineflix Rights signs multiple deals with German broadcasters

Mar 19, 2015

Cineflix Rights, one of the UK’s leading independent television distributors, has signed a raft of deals with German networks for content from its market-leading science, history, and crime and investigation slate.

Heading up the deals is recently acquired Battle Factory (14x30’, Yap Films), which has been bought by n-tv. The new series takes viewers into the hidden world of military and frontline gear factories all over the world with unprecedented access and reveals the complex manufacturing process. Battle Factory is the latest addition to Cineflix Rights’ highly successful ‘factory’ brands, sitting alongside Food Factory , Food Factory USA , and Home Factory .

History programming continues to perform well for Cineflix Rights in Germany, with n-tv also buying Hitler the Junkie (1x60’, Waddell Media) and N24 taking WWII’s Greatest Raids (6x60’, Impossible Pictures Factual), which explores how celebrated outfits such as the SAS, the U.S. Army Rangers, British Royal Navy, and the Black Devil Brigade changed the course of WWII battles through their bravery and commitment.

Alongside the science and history sales, Cineflix Rights has seen crime and investigation as well as science programming titles selling well in Germany, including Surviving Evil (Season 2, 10x60’, Cineflix Productions), Huge Moves (Seasons 1 and 2, 7x60’, Windfall Films) and Border Security Canada (Seasons 1 and 3, 39x30’, Force Four Entertainment), all bought by ProSieben.

Chris Bonney, CEO Rights, Cineflix Media said: “Germany is a key market and we’re delighted to be continuing our strong relationships with partners like ProSieben, n-tv, and N24 through these deals. I’m especially pleased to see Battle Factory getting off the mark so quickly in Germany alongside two other recent acquisitions, WWII’s Greatest Raids and Hitler the Junkie selling well, reflecting the strength of our history and science content.”

The sales were brokered by Kate Llewellyn-Jones, SVP, Sales Management, France and Germany.
