Cineflix Rights signs multiple deals in Southern Europe and Latin America

Jul 28, 2015

Cineflix Rights, one of the UK’s leading independent television distributors, has signed a series of deals with broadcasters across Latin America, Spain, Portugal, and Italy for some of its most successful science, travel, property, crime, wildlife and natural history, and factual entertainment brands.

AMC Networks Iberia (Spain and Portugal) has bought shows including Angry Planet (10x30’, Cineflix Productions), Battle Factory (14x30’, Yap Films), Ocean Vet (11x30’, gassProductions), and 1000 Days for the Planet (season 1, 10 x 60’, Glacialis Productions); while Discovery Networks Latin America has taken Trauma Investigators (seasons 2 and 3, 12x60’, Cineflix Productions/Curve Media).

Discovery Networks Latin America has additionally taken hipster South African travel series Food, Booze & Tattoos (13x30’, Hive Content), which has also been picked up by Italy’s De Agostini.

Property and crime content remains a mainstay of Cineflix Rights’ slate with AMC Networks Latin America picking up Colin and Justin’s Home Heist (seasons 1 and 2, 52x60’, Cineflix Productions) while A&E Latin America has bought Border Security Canada (seasons 1 and 2, 39x30’), Force Four Entertainment and Seven Network Australia), and Discovery Networks Latin America has picked up the third season of Wives With Knives (10x60’, Indigo Films).

In Portugal, SIC has picked up Celebrity Legacies (26 x 60, CMJ Productions) for its celebrity-focused channel SIC Caras.

Chris Bonney, CEO Rights, Cineflix Media said: “The growth of pan-regional broadcasters extending their reach into new and existing regions is one of the current trends we’re seeing in the industry. We’re delighted to be working with so many of them to provide successful content which works for a diverse range of audiences across the territories in which they operate.”

The deals were all brokered by Sabrina Ayala, VP and General Manager, Italy, Iberia, and Latin America for Cineflix Rights, who has recently added France to her sales portfolio.
