Cineflix Productions wins BBC One Commission for Help! My House is a Zoo

Sep 25, 2013

Cineflix Productions has been commissioned by Alison Kirkham, Head of Commissioning Features BBC One and BBC Two and Tanya Shaw, Commissioning Editor Factual Features and Formats to make Help! My House is a Zoo, a one-off programme for BBC One which follows extreme pet lovers whose lives have become unmanageable and overrun by the very animals they so adore.

Presented by Jasmine Harman, Help! My House is a Zoo (1x60’, working title) follows different animal addicts who have reached crisis point, as they embark on an eye-opening and emotional journey to reduce their ever-expanding pet population and regain control of their lives.

Camilla Lewis, MD of Cineflix Productions UK said: “These stories of animal obsession are extreme but also moving and heart-warming, sometimes frustrating and sometimes funny. Help! My House is a Zoo will follow these individuals as they go on a personal and emotional journey themselves, and also include an insight into just how and why a love for animals can spiral out of control.”

Tanya Shaw said: “We’ve all seen news stories about animal charities having to rescue pets whose owners have become unable to cope with multiple animals. Help! My House is a Zoo will show just how easily a love of animals can develop in to something unmanageable that takes over your life and provide expert advice on how you can avoid falling into this trap.”

Help! My House is a Zoo is produced and directed by Barney Snow and executive produced by Sue Davidson. Tanya Shaw is the Executive Producer for the BBC. The format and completed show are being distributed internationally by Cineflix Rights.
